Research Overview
The frequency, timing and magnitude characteristics of all wildfires in a region is known as the wildfire ‘regime’ (Millington et al. 2006). My research examines various aspects of the wildfire regime, including:

• characterizing the wildfire regimes using their frequency-size distributions (Malamud et al. 2005)
• simulating vegetation succession-disturbance dyanamics in a Mediterranean-type environment (Millington et al. 2009)
• analysing the spatial distribution of wildfires ignited by human activity (Millington et al. 2008, Romero-Calcerrada et al. 2008, 2010)
